‘To the next level’: One B2B brand on rebranding, recruiting and reimagining the market

Reaching 30,000 people a day, supplier of public sector language services Dals rebranded and hired a new marketing boss in a bid to drive growth.

The UK’s largest supplier of public sector language services, Dals rebranded and appointed a new marketing director in the space of month in a bid to position the company beyond translations.

Founded in 1998 and formerly known as DA Languages, Dals is a 400-person strong business offering interpreting and translation services covering more than 500 languages, including British Sign Language and other non-spoken languages. The company offers video, telephone and face-to-face interpreting services.

The rebrand to Dals concluded in late October, while Jon Burke was appointed group marketing and sales director a month later. Almost a year in the making, the rebrand was led internally by a project manager, Dals CEO Matthew Taylor and an external agency, which Burke says was hired to ensure a “thorough, well thought out and planned process.”
