Meet the speakers

Helen Edwards

Helen is a branding consultant, an award-winning columnist and an Adjunct Professor of Marketing at London Business School. She is a speaker on marketing best practice, the power of brands, consumer behaviour and business growth. Her latest book focuses on counterintuitive new ways to come at innovation: ‘From Marginal to Mainstream: Why tomorrow’s brand growth will come from the fringes – and how to get there first’.

Dr Grace Kite has more than 20 years’ experience using statistics to model commercial outcomes to see what drives growth. Throughout, she has prioritised coaching people to use results successfully. She now focuses on big picture patterns in business growth and in how people and organisations absorb data and analytics. She shares these themes and stories – complete with data that proves they are real – for the benefit of clients, students, and audiences at events worldwide. Dr Kite founded Magic Numbers in 2010. It’s a company specializing in analysis to evaluate marketing that provides insights in a human and approachable way while also ensuring results are reliable. Magic Numbers clients include Money Supermarket, Yorkshire Tea, Fever Tree, and Wagamama.

Pete Markey

Pete Markey is President of ISBA, the UK’s leading trade body for major advertisers, and the former Chief Marketing Officer for Boots UK & ROI. At Boots, he delivered 17 consecutive quarters of growth, record brand health, and over 3 million new Advantage Card members. An award-winning marketer with senior roles at TSB, Aviva, the Post Office, RSA, and MORE TH>N, Pete has won five “Marketer of the Year” awards and three diversity ally awards. He is a Fellow of both the Marketing Society and the Chartered Institute of Marketing, holds an Honorary Doctorate in Business for his contribution to business and DE&I, and mentors emerging talent through The Marketing Academy, The Marketing Society, and the School of Marketing.

Russell Parsons

Editor-in-Chief at Marketing Week & Festival of Marketing Russell is the award-winning editor of the UK’s most prominent marketing title. He is responsible for leading Marketing Week’s content strategy across several platforms. Russell is also a trusted authority on marketing issues, delivering keynote speeches and hosting and appearing on panels at industry events. He first joined Marketing Week as a reporter in 2009. Russell won The Fiona Macpherson New Editor of the Year award in 2016, with the judges praising a “strong, consistent vision with fast and tangible impact”
