Hear from P&G, Coke and Specsavers at this year’s Festival of Marketing

In addition to headliners Mary Portas OBE and Matthew Syed, delegates can expect to hear from marketing heavyweights from brands including Coca-Cola, Monzo, PwC and more at this year’s Festival.

Marketing Week’s Festival of Marketing is set to return to London on 2 October, with global marketing directors from the world’s biggest brands discussing everything from growth stories and effectiveness to wellbeing and innovation.

Coca-Cola’s Europe CMO, Javier Meza, will share how the company is achieving effective and meaningful personalisation by embedding AI. Meanwhile, P&G Europe’s chief brand officer, Taide Guajardo, and Northern Europe’s senior director for brand and media, Matt Thomas, will discuss how they drive brand and business growth by focusing on expanding product categories, not just market share.

Elsewhere, Specsavers CEO John Perkins and CMO Peter Wright will dig into the brand’s history, explaining the secret behind its years of success and how it is preparing for the future. Meanwhile, PwC’s global CMO Antonia Wade, Marketing Week’s 2024 Marketer of the Year, will share how to become a better marketer, discussing her illustrious career including stints at Capita, Thomson Reuters and Accenture.

Sports lovers can also hear from Martin Nance, CMO of NFL giant Minnesota Vikings, about how its customers are being turned into ‘brand fans’. Meanwhile, approaches on how to understand customers can also be learned from Paddy Power’s marketing director, Michelle Spillane, Total Fitness’s brand development director, Kerry Curtis, and Macmillan Cancer Support’s chief engagement officer, Sonia Sudhakar.

Monzo’s head of brand strategy, Natalie Malevsky, will also sit down with behavioural science expert, author and Marketing Week columnist Richard Shotton to discuss how the online bank has differentiated in a very competitive market.

Meanwhile, Ozone’s CMO, Bryan Scott, and the BBC’s marketing director, Paul Davies, will discuss the inside story of the BBC’s marketing transformation to become an award-winning strategic powerhouse driving audience growth, cultural change, and bold creative campaigns.

As announced last week, the event will be headlined by renowned businesswoman, author, broadcaster and retail figure, Mary Portas OBE, and closed by award-winning journalist and expert in high-performance thinking, Matthew Syed.

Portas, appearing courtesy of our partner talent management agency YMU, will touch on reimagining growth, drawing from her experience, which includes transforming department store Harvey Nichols into a global brand destination.

Syed will provide evidence-based advice on how marketers can adopt a growth mindset to give them a competitive edge.

There is much more to be announced, including in-depth sessions and one-to-one coaching covering B2B, effectiveness, skills, and careers, with insight from effectiveness expert Les Binet, Kantar’s Dom Boyd and Marketing Week columnist Dr Grace Kite.
