‘You can’t just innovate blindly’: McDonald’s UK CMO on ‘customer-led’ NPD

As McDonald’s announces the launch of new burger the Big Arch, UK CMO Ben Fox stresses the importance of menu and marketing working “hand in glove”.

A strong link between marketing and product is absolutely essential to McDonald’s success as a brand, according to its UK CMO.

“For me, menu and marketing, the two things can’t be separated,” says Ben Fox, who has been in role as chief marketing officer for the UK and Ireland since January.

“Those two things have to fit hand in glove, without that I don’t think we really stand a chance.”

His comments come as McDonald’s preps the launch of its Big Arch burger across the UK this month.
