Airbnb ‘actively thinking’ about launching a membership scheme
CEO Brian Chesky says a paid membership scheme like Amazon Prime would be more “compelling” for the travel brand than a points-based programme.
Airbnb has said it is “actively thinking” about launching a subscription or membership service to drive greater frequency of use from its customers.
Loyalty schemes are popular in the travel market, with the likes of Booking.com and hotel groups like Hilton talking up the positive impact of these types of initiatives. However, Airbnb doesn’t currently have a loyalty programme.
