Privacy is always going to be a hot button topic in the modern world.
As more of us hand over increasing amounts of information to businesses, there is an expectation the data we provide will be used responsibly and won’t be passed over willingly.
This is what made the UK government’s ask of Apple to allow a “back door” for it to access global users’ data – and Apple’s rebuff of said request – all the more important. With the news on Tuesday (19 August) the government had abandoned its request seemingly a telling victory in the battle for privacy.
